Interesting work Arkhan!
I don't quite understand how it would take 15 hours to create, or that it's a signature sized at 1400x700, nearly the size of a desktop background, but I think it's an interesting design, I like the Sith Empire logo in the top left and the holographic guy on the right is a nice touch too :).
I do my sig work at high resolutions. The expected output may be 600x300 or smaller, but the master is high-res. As such, all the compositions must hold up under closer scrutiny, because the customer gets the original.
There are 3 figures in the sig, each of which has been altered from its original state. The low-res texture borders were redone, highlights, outlines, etc.
The lightsaber is from scratch, the lightning is from scratch. Khem Val is black&white, but his tattoos and "red thingees' are not. Khem Val is then transparent, of course.
The "Sith Empire" lettering took about an hour, from creating the lettering with gradiant fades, compositing, resizing to fit the space, kerning the letters individually, etc.
The "action pose Myrcen" has a transparency gradiant. The saber and right arm are mostly "opaque", fading out as you continue to the right, excepting the hand, which is opaque again. As I mentioned, the lightning is created, not from a screenshot.
The only part of the sig which isn't heavily modified is the background. Its pretty much "dropped into place".
Sometimes, all the custom work is hard to see in the smaller form-factor of forum sigs. But, its there, and visible in the full-sized original.
Plus, I was doing most of it at work, which always makes it take longer.
Hope your boss doesn't visit the forum sometime!!! He may beat you over the head with your saber! Really I just wanted an excuse to use that smiley! LOL
The sig looks great! 1000 times better then anything I can do that is for sure! Good work! I really like the translucentness (Shakespeare can make up words, so can I) of the background guy! The lightning and saber look great too.

Arkhan, I mean no offense, but I'm a graphics designer, I do understand the time, effort and effects used in this design. I merely disagree that it would take that long, but that may simply be a difference in familiarity with the programs and technique.
Anyways, as I said, I do like the design and certain elements of it are a nice touch.
I was just trying to explain where the time went. I'm not a graphic designer, and as such, things very likely take me longer than they would a professional.
As to the "big size", it will fit my 1440x900 monitors at home almost perfectly, as a Wallpaper.
Some of the time went into items that didn't make it into the sig. Different versions of the "action pose", full lightning bolts, etc.
I use Paint.NET (with extra plug-ins), as opposed to PhotoShop, so I don't have access to *all* of the tools. The fonts were done in another program, which then have to be re-sized, etc. I have a pressure-sensitive drawing pad *at home* but at work, I use the mouse.
Back when I was doing WoW sigs, I was using WoW Model Viewer, combining body parts from different poses, to get the exact look. This isn't possible with SWTOR currently, and so the only poses you have at your disposal are those you can grab in game. Compositing different body parts together from multiple poses takes time.
If I had to redo the sig from scratch, without experimenting on different elements, it would take much less time.
So, the time quoted was inflated for several different reasons.
