I commissioned Aaron to build a Steampunk inspired saber and he delivered in spades! The proverbial "pictures don't do it justice" certainly applies in this case. You literally have to take this saber in your hands in order to truly appreciate the details and the amount of work put into this hilt.
Aaron followed up with build pics and he was very, very accommodating to what I wanted on the hilt but at the same time, I gave him artistic license to apply whatever he thought would work best for the saber as a whole. I heartily recommend Aaron to anyone who wishes to commission him for a saber build!

Got one of his beatiful Carbonite control boxes and a couple of AV switches. Great communication, super nice guy to chat with, the box is absolutely stellar and looks killer on the project I'm working on. Shipping was very fast and I could not be happier with my purchase. 10/10
I purchased a TFU2 empty with leather wrap from Solo's Hold. I'm happy beyond words with the details, quality, and sturdiness of this wonderful hilt! I love the look, feel, balance, and everything else about this awesome hilt!
Aaron was extremely communicative and approachable from the moment I inquired about the hilt, through to the delivery, and beyond. I inquired about payment plans, and he went above and beyond to offer me different accommodations - including restating one of the options that I'd missed in the threaded posts. Other follow-ups include advice, videos, images, multiple inquiries to ensure that I was not overwhelmed with my first custom saber (not to mention an empty), and to ensure that I was happy with all aspects of my purchase.
I would highly recommend Solo's Hold (Aaron) to anyone who wishes to purchase/commission one of his creations; I will certainly jump at buying more items from him in the future!

The short version - I received a complete version( ie -- full install) of the TFU2 saber from Aaron of Solo's Hold. To say that the work (both the machining of the hilt AND the electronics install) is the BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN is an understatement. As if that weren't enough, his work ethic, his dedication to his clients, and his drive/desire to satisfy and deliver a top tier product is almost other worldly. I will be posting a more in depth review of the saber when the opportunity arises, but until then here is a link to some photos of the saber inside and out.
Agreed! Got mine too and it is FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC!!! The Machining work is great, and the saber is solid as the f-word. You can beat the ever loving dog doo out of it and it feels like it was meant to be used for REAL battle. Solid solid solid.
Just a genius of a hilt and construction.
Aaron also goes BEYOND... and I mean far exceeding what any normal person would do... for his customers. He doesn't want his work to be sub par and things that are completely out of his control... he will make it his task to fix or assuage concerns.
Dude... the BEST run saber I've had and best customer service ever.

I bought a SF Rebel Princess with igniter mini from Aaron. This was a saber he modified, installed electronic, and then posted for sale. He cut the original pommel off and machined MHS threads into the hilt, installed an igniter mini w/ Darth Alice chassis , custom control box, brass screws, etc.
The saber came exactly as described. I'm am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend anything from Solo's Hold. He is honest and communicates well. The saber was also packaged excellent and the saber itself is rock solid! This guy is worthy of the name Han Solo too: I payed for the saber at night, it was already on it's way to me before I woke up the next day!
I just received my V2 and V4 stands a few minutes ago and I have to say its extremely well packed. I thought these will come unassembled but no, they are fully assembled and ready to display sabers I do not have yet! Officially, I have more stands than saber now! LOL
The quality is really good and exceeded my expectation. They look better in person than on photos, I am very happy with these beautiful stands.
Communicating with Solo is never an issue as he will reply any questions very fast. Very easy person to work with, very, very helpful, always polite even tho I asked several irritating questions and very much a pleasant and wonderful guy to deal with. And someone whom I am very proud to become a friend with!
I want to Give A 10/10 For Solo's Hold. I recently Purchased His Prototype TFU2 Empty and Was vary helpful Pointing me to A Great Saber smith who Can Accommodate an Install for me.
This feedback is also for His Stands.10/10 I purchased A blank v2 from His His Sale thread and when It comes to shipping, I got it in like 2-3 days! His Stands Are ROCK Solid! My HEAVY OB1 ANH Is nice And Secure on these Stands. The Black felt Holds them nice and snugly Protecting them from scratches, and the Rubber feet Hold everything from sliding around I had also Purchased 2 Additional Stands and He has Already Sent tracking for it like in an Hour! after the Purchase. The Second will be A BRASS Version and Well Be TOTAL AWESOME! when Done!

Not bucking the trend here - I had a very very smooth transaction with Solo's Hold about five or six weeks ago. Bought a hilt that he'd done some work on and was looking to move on, the amount of time between inquiring PM and the sale was about 45 minutes. He also recommended DarthAlice to me and made provisions for DA to pick the saber up next time they met instead of charging extra for postage.
That's about an 11/10 for me - above and beyond the call.

I received a weathered Jedi V2 stand from Solo's Hold. I have to say its amazing. It's a finely crafted piece of art. Communication was stellar and well packaged. I would gladly do business with him again. 10/10
I just received one of Solo's Galactic Republic V3 stands - exceptional quality / craftsmanship, and very befitting the sabers that I plan to display on it! Communication was great, (as usual), great packaging, and extremely fast shipping.
Late feedback for Solo...I picked up four V3s awhile back and now have 13 of his stands. I can't overstate the quality. These are awesome! One of these days the stars will align and I'll get in on one of his saber runs...
I want to Give SH some additional feedback for More of his Stands, this time A V3 OR, V4 and V2 Mirror polished Stands with Rubber gripping. His Stands Are Rock solid as I mentioned before and hold ANY Hilt nice and Secure.

Tron came over yesterday and upgraded my whole computer system to windows 7 Deluxe ( he swapped out the tower and migrated all of my files) I can't say enough how much he is appreciated as a friend, and also is one of the most generous people that I know. Once again another solid 10 out of 10!
Knowing all the projects Aaron has on his plate I took it upon to add something to his long list of things to do, being the good guy that I am. I needed a custom part made for my lathe, nothing too fancy but oddly enough was not available anywhere online. After explaining what I needed and that I could probably do it myself, Aaron recommended not to. Needing the part made out of tool steel was the ticket and Aaron busted out a bull nose for the tailstock on my lathe.
A big 10/10 from this guy. This will make life a lot easier and open up a few doors of what I can do on the ol' toy lathe of mine.
Man that pick came out looking horrible, Must retake.....

I just got a copper control box from Solo's Hold. It's ridiculously nice. Super light. I'm going to polish it up as I have some copper-laden plans for it. Solo's Hold is one of the best guys on this or any other forum.
Just received a v2 stand from Solos Hold and it is awsome. I've ordered a couple things from Aaron and he is great to deal with. He is also always eager to help someone out when they have a question about saber building. Great guy 10/10.
It has been exactly 3 months since I received my saber from Aaron of Solo’s Hold. It is an exquisite work of art and a saber of awesomeness and is testament to why it received the most votes and awarded 1st place as Best Saber 2014. I am well aware that this commissioned piece is unlikely to be repeated anytime soon due to the complicated processes used to bring it to be. I realize too that in the future when technologies become better, faster and less expensive we will see sabers like this…. But possibly not as cool. A big shout out to Aaron of Solo’s Hold. An all-round good guy. A big phat 10/10. Here are some shots of my saber. And as a footnote: The plinth it is on is Schist stone taken from location where the filming of the first LOTR movies were shot. So it is a real piece of Middle-Earth to go with a real Sith King of Angmar light saber.
Rogue Five: Hi Bentley! Where y'all been?

Rogue Five: Sandpeople-Cool! I don't have any of the Noble Collection swords but I have a few of the United Cutlery ones and they are superb replicas as they're modeled directly from the original props. If you're interested in buying another one, I highly recommend
Sept 22, 2017 14:15:08 GMT -5
Rogue Five: Anduril. I have one and it is gorgeous and sturdily made. I believe it is a full tang sword so you could swing it around without it flying apart. Trust me, you'll feel like the King of Gondor holding this thing lol.
Sept 22, 2017 14:17:54 GMT -5
ARKM: "full tang United Cutlery" is an oxymoron.
Sept 22, 2017 15:02:54 GMT -5
ARKM: That does not mean that they aren't nice for hanging on the wall though. I have a UC Kurgan sword. I like it.
Sept 22, 2017 15:05:02 GMT -5
Rogue Five: Yeah I wouldn't go looking for a fight with any wall hanger swords lol. I think Anduril and Strider's Ranger sword are the only full tang swords in the LOTR line.
Sept 22, 2017 15:42:13 GMT -5
Rogue Five: I looked into getting a functional Anduril from a custom swordsmith but no one I found made a screen accurate one.
Sept 22, 2017 15:51:24 GMT -5
Rogue Five: That Kurgan one is nice. Sword afficianados like to dump on it because it has a two piece blade and they're right but who cares! It looks bad a**
