My daughters dance group had a "Halloween Disco", and somehow my wife persuaded me to dress up although she wasn't bothering.... I figured that a Zombie would be too much for the younger kids and thought a friendly looking devil might be okay.
I wound up not dressing up at all this year; I'm just escorting the 5 y.o. around. I quickly realized that it will probably take me 4+ months to create an outfit for him, so that was out the window for this Halloween. I almost pulled the trigger on purchasing a custom Jedi costume, but then he went nuts over a questionable-quality Jango outfit at the mall - go figure!
At any rate, here's the Jango outfit being prepped on the little guy; he'll make a good merc!:

I may have either crushed some kids dreams or set him up for success. He saw my saber and freaked out, when his mom asked me about it I told her the value but was sure to say that it was a high end one. She asked me how much for a "kids" one and I told her the cheapest I have sold one for. She looked surprised and the then ushered the kid away with words of "maybe for Christmas" the kid was obviously disappointed. However one of my friends heard him on the way out saying "that's what I wanna do when I grow up!"

I attempted a Star Lord Costume. I had almost everything except for the mask/helmet. But I was having to use a lightsaber for a cane and of course as soon as people see a lightsaber they think Jedi. Maybe Star Lord stole a lightsaber from a Jedi. LOL I will be ready next year though. I am almost done with my Star Lord Helmet now. Plus it gives me time to make my costume more screen accurate.
My son and I went to Halloween, and then the C4 Comicon (C4 = Central Canadian Comic Con), as a Jedi/Sith combo. We even did a lightsaber choreo/demo for River City Jedi at the Con. Unfortunately, these are the best photos (and apparently the few) we have from C4. Memo for next year: take better, or at least more, pictures.
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.
Except when nerf herding; then all bets are off...

ZahcStarKiller: Yeah I have to agree. I just happened to stumble across spot #1 on the orbital machining Obi TPM run and had the opportunity to purchase it. That is pretty darn close to happiness.
