So a little over a year ago, My Friend Richard Coyle and I were talking about his Super Awesome Blasters, and I have long history of being a Huge Fan of Both the Novel by PKD, the Movie adaptation Directed by Ridley Scott, and starring one of my Hero's Han Solo.. LOL
The conversation centered around making a stand that made the Blaster Replica seem to be the Focal point of the Display itself. I really like Richards stands, but for me being a more industrial art kind of person I set about the task of making one and sending it to Richard, we both liked it so much we decided to visit this idea and offer them to other BR blaster owners everywhere.
I am making them a brushed aluminum finish..
Luke: "Boy, it's lucky you have these compartments."
Han Solo: "I use them for smuggling. I never thought I'd be smuggling myself in them. This is ridiculous. "
ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"

ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.

ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."

ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.

profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?

ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.

profezzorn: so what do you use?

ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
