neptunetq about powder coating service price: its yet to be determined cause they might be a lot of options there, someone might want solid black on every section that shows chipped-off-paint on the original prop, whilst another might only want the grip-grooves black, and another could request copper neck only... copper neck + black grips-grooves. and so on. anywhere between $5 and $25 maybe. NEVER WEATHERING THOUGH
Im a few days late, but absolutely excited about this anouncement, run price on each hilt is $155, you can get a tri-pack for $400 (a pack of three V2s) shipping is INCLUDED!!!
Im gonna open an interest list at post #1 of this thread, so its very important that you guys let me know you are in (I noticed some of you have). I will just use a two-color-code on the list, yellow means interested (no particular order), green means paymet was sent (these will be in order).
In a lower note, I would strongly sudgest you buy a complete graflex flashgun (instead of just the clamp) because Im not far from starting production of a COMPLETE Vader ROTJ kit... just so you know, and we are talking of a $130-tops kit with everything except graflex tube, realy EVERYTHING: shroud+thumbscrew, contol-box + mid band, door latch, emitter d-ring stud, kobold d-ring, glass-eye replacement, allen screws, rubber grips, blade-holder + heatsink... will start the thread and interest list any day now.
okay... the lower note isn't so low.. Im very interested in that one now as well. what time of graflex tube should we get for the vader? the luke 3 cell? i guess i need to do more research on how they made the RoTJ vader. when will you post the thread about the vader and update pics for the luke? thanks ONE REPLICAS! i for one am very excited.

mikec : like jmplagueis said "every mm will help" I decided to go with the 30mm ID from the end of the grip area down (pommelward that is) because the groove that make up the grip area go quite deep. Ill post a drawing to ilustrate this. Ive not tried a TCSS repro myself, but any clamp that can be installed on to a graflex flashgun will work on my V2s just fine... I have not used any repro clamps that couldnt fit on an original graflex (and never heard of one failing either), stay tuned for my post on the inner space feature.

solaren yes its one single piece from the emitter to the threaded end that the pommel screws onto. extra parts will be avalible at run prices as well, perhaps an extra cone-knobs would be between $4 and $7
thrgk I want to start production of the "heavy" parts of this run (main body and pommel) ASAP, but not everyone would necesarily have the funds avalible right away (some of you might have just spent $500 on lightsaber goods or fixing there car or your kids dentist bill), I got a plan to get this thing going full throttle without either imposing financial strain or worst yet folks being left behind. Not much of a "plan" though, just a reduced first-payment of $55, I will add this info within the starting post of this thread.
Bentley the graflex parts needed for the VaderROTJ hilt would be: a complete graflex 3-cell flashgun minus the mid-clamp, red button, glass-eye... although I am seriously considering producing a complete hilt instead of a complete kit... but lets leave this to the upcoming VaderROTJ thread shall we =)

mrbrightside all aluminum body, extra powder coat service will be avalible.
The reason why I dont just powdercoat all hilts and let folks weather upon that is because people do weathering many different ways using different techniques... some of these techniques work using some form of liquid paint (spray can, airbrush, brush) and some form of abrasive and/or scraping. Powder coating could in most cases keep you guys from "performing" your own techniques and approaches properly and finaly not getting the results you want.

noisetrigger hey buddy!, the hilt will hold a 1"OD thin-wall blade, no thick-wall blade cause the heatsink/LED/optic asselbly will be inside the blade (but not part of the blade though).
To be honest, I have not duel-tested this setup, I have tested it by swinging and spinning a saber but thats about it. I am pretty confident that the heatsink/LED/Optic assembly located inside the blade socket will improove the ability of the emitter to hold the blade up to duel level.
Also correct, you guys will only need to paypal $55 at first ($100 if you are in for a tri-pack), and the rest will be requested when the hilts are ready to ship out.
darthdimitri : to be honest, I didn not think about crystal chamber capabilities, now that you mention it and looking at the hilt as I conceived it... there is a simple mod that can be made afterwards to make the hilt open at the middle. I´ll try and come up with a proper twist-and-slide-out solution to offer that upon request, not promising anything though but its worth a shot (yeah yeah, do or do not... there is no try)
I am feeling faint. Someone call a Paramedic. But not me because I am off duty. :0

Luke Skywalker: Thank you guys for working together to pay the bills. We're way way in the black for this year and most likely part of next year and we still have 40 coins to go. All but six coins have shipped as of this morning. I needed a few clarifications for them.
