By the time it was released I remember it was ignored by many. "It's not a movie replica, not interested". To me it was instantly something unique, beautiful design and most likely something we won't see reproduced as a licenced collectable again. Star Wars is so much more that just the movies.
There is one unique lightsaber that I would buy instantly, but I don't own that thick wallet ;D. It's the EFX Old Republic Lightsaber

Ha ha. We were posting at the same time and I got distracted. I never saw your post above mine. I was referring to the mara hilt. I think the control box near the emitter turn sme off. Other than that I love the saber. Very nice hilt.
The old republic saber is very cool to say the least. The upper shroud seems a bit awkward for dueling but its a nice display piece for sure.
Ebay has changed in few years. You used to make good finds, but nowadays everything seems to cost quite much. You can find cheaper from retailers if you can look. Ebay offers a variety ofcourse, but many sellers aim just to make the biggest money. I don't blame them for making money, but I always find better deals elsewhere.
profezzorn: hey ARKM, did you ever write a that tutorial on the toner transfer method?

ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"
Jun 23, 2017 16:24:16 GMT -5
ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.

ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."

ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.

profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?
Jun 23, 2017 16:37:26 GMT -5
ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:16 GMT -5
profezzorn: so what do you use?
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:36 GMT -5
ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
