Just got my blade plugs from Caz the other day. They look even better in person than they do in pictures. The brass blade plug really sets off my BS-26. Phenomenal work and great to deal with. Awesome stuff.
Just got two beautifully made Blade plugs. Communication was great as always, and the speed with which they were made and sent was amazing. (Also seriously well packed. Would easily survive the "samsonite" test from the 1970's). 10/10
Been too busy lately but my Copper blade plug arrived yesterday. Looks better than I could possibly imagine --- beautifully constructed!. Kudos to Caz for throwing in a polishing cloth since I was concerned that the copper would tarnish over time. Thanks so much for this added material. Much appreciated!
Wow, if everyone conducted business like Darkside Engineering.... ... the world would be full of hungry and homeless attorneys.
The whole experience of ordering his blade plugs has redefined excellence in product quality and customer service. His communications are prompt, polite, and articulate. The ordering process was concise and blade plugs were delivered in an insanely quick manner. The quality of his products are precisely what you see in the photographs: intricate with an amazing eye to detail. Shipping and delivery were equally impressive; he packaged the blade plugs so even the most reckless postal employee couldn't damage the merchandise. Again, the intricate attention to detail (quality) of his products is AMAZING.
If you haven't purchased his blade plugs, do so before he begins charging what they're worth.
Purchased a Brass Limited Edition ARKM /DSE Razor Blade Plug, sized to fit my Solos Hold TFU2. Caz was extremely helpful and personable when I conversed with him in PM's to ensure that I was ordering the correct longer than usual size for the TFU2. He was very prompt, responsive, super-fast making the plug, fast at shipping, and packed the plug more securely/professionally than anything else I've ever received! (Boxed > paper-wrap > bubble-wrapped > pvc-pipe protected > tissue paper & tape! Even the rough-handling USPS people, who sometimes mangle my boxes, couldn't have affected this product!)
Then there's the design, detail, and quality of the plug itself = exceptional in all regards!
I will definitely buy more Darkside Engineering products, and I highly recommend that everyone else does so as well!!!
I recently purchased a Shredder Blade Plug from Darkside Engineering and was most impressed with his polite and effective communication, SUPER SPEEDY SHIPPING, and outstanding quality of the product. Would do business again without hesitation. 12/10!!!
I would like to give Caz from Darkside Engineering a 10/10 for the amazing Job he did on the OR Qui-Gon with custom Chamber.
He is so vary thought and his quality is top notch. I can't say that I have owned many sabers like this as my other is a static MR TPM but I have a big collection of quality props and this saber is one of my best! Finds. I believe in the hard work that a Guy like Caz dois. stuff like this always deserves prize. Its like comparing an artists work to a factory made piece, and Caz is the Artist
I would recommend Him to any one as his Customer service/communication is great! Too. Great com. Is always 50% of what a customer wants.
What a great job Darkside Engineering did for me on three blade plugs i ordered. They are very nicely polished and make my sabers look great. He rely was very patient with me every step of the way even when i screwed up the shipping. I will definitely do business with him again. Thanks Caz!!!
profezzorn: hey ARKM, did you ever write a that tutorial on the toner transfer method?

ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"
Jun 23, 2017 16:24:16 GMT -5
ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:30 GMT -5
ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:53 GMT -5
ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.

profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?
Jun 23, 2017 16:37:26 GMT -5
ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:16 GMT -5
profezzorn: so what do you use?
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:36 GMT -5
ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
