I ordered one of Caz's Solo's Hold Maverick blade plugs and more impressed I could not be. It's a turbine design which I'm guessing was inspired by the source material. The "blades" of the turbine are evenly spaced and heat treated as is the cone which not only gives a unique finish to each plug but also makes it look as if the lightsaber had actually been ignited. It works perfectly with this hilt.
On top of all that, Caz is one of the nicest guys I've dealt with and very quick to respond to messages. I hope I get to work with him again.

DSE installed a Solo's Hold Maverick (Corran Horn) saber for me. Fantastic job. Superb quality. Prior to this saber, I had two disappointing purchases and was ready to quit the hobby (no one likes to throw good money away down the sarlac pit). Caz answered all my questions and was great to work with.
I recently received my DSE installed SH Corran Horn. Communication was top notch prior to the build, throughout the build (which most of you got to witness through his awesome build thread), and since the build. The saber is great, so big shout out to SH's machining and DSE's engineering install skills. I also received DSE's corresponding blade plug, which is a phenomenal companion to the saber. Definitely 2 thumbs up from the Fonz.
ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.

ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."

ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.

profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?

ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.

profezzorn: so what do you use?

ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
