After getting several orders for these it occurred to me that I should cover the direction of the wrap.
I am a lefty, so I cut the taper on the top right of my strip(see picture below). This lets me hold the saber in my right hand and guide the strip with my left hand..moving to the left and around the hilt. Notice on the left side of the strip the taper is cut on the bottom.(opposite of the right side)
Below you will see that I start the strip with taper side up(against my switch collar) and began wrapping it, moving to the left.
When you get toward the end of the hilt, the beginning/angle of your taper should fall right on the edge(of this pommel collar) and then wrap around(parallel).
I usually adjust the last 4 or 5 coils to get the spacing the way I need it.
To wrap from left moving right.(for the right handed) I can simply cut the taper on the Top left(and on the bottom right). This would be opposite of what is pictured Above.
The strips I shipped today included a cardboard template of the taper angle. I will include this for each order.
These are appox. 48 inches long. There will be projects where you may need to shorten the wrap. You can dry fit it and adjust(cut) your length, then use the template to re-apply the taper.
I will gladly pre-taper. Just say the word when you order. Any questions just let me know.

All leather strip orders have been shipped. I have plenty more.
I have been cutting the last several orders to 48 inches(rather than 44 inches). This length may be more than you need for most projects, but I would much rather you have too much than to come up short. As always I'll include a cardboard template for the taper.

The main purpose for this video is to show how the taper should fall right into place at the end of the hilt.
So, please pardon my excessive use of this upholstery glue in the video. I normally don't apply this much because its not needed, But I was in a hurry to get it right. lol
It evaporates and absorbs quickly into the leather ..so not a problem. But it can be messy if your not careful. A cleaner option may be the Hockey tape application that Aaron teaches.(I need to try this)
For those who have adhesive on hand, just apply a few inches at a time and wrap.
Finish off the last tip of the taper with a dab of loc-tite.

ZahcStarKiller: Yeah I have to agree. I just happened to stumble across spot #1 on the orbital machining Obi TPM run and had the opportunity to purchase it. That is pretty darn close to happiness.
