What is it?
This is the newest LED by Naigon's Electronic Creations, basically my take on the TriCree XP-E2 that is popular in the industry. The led starts with a custom dielectric copper base material thermally fused to an aluminum substrate board. The base is a rounded start that comes in at just over 20mm. I then took the two best features of the Z6 - the built-on STTH2L06 for the Red die and the common anode wiring specific for 3.7v power sources, and added that to this star. The result is an LED that is bright and even, while being easy to use.
Any differences between other Crees?
I use the same XP-E2 red, green, and royal blue dies, ordering only the brightest binning of each color to ensure the LED will perform at its best.
What about the optic and holder
There are mounting points on the LED for the standard Carclo 10507 optic, which I'll include with every purchase. Note that the diode is a bit close to one leg and that leg may need to be sanded a bit depending on how tight your optic holder is.
Because this LED has the nice LED holder and is quite standard, it works with all 1" holders I've tested. Due to this I'm going to stop providing a holder on my site as the one from Solo's Hold or TCSS (1" or original) work fine.
What's it look like?
I didn't get time to do a custom picture/video comparison, but it is exactly the same in terms of brightness/look as any other XP-E2 you can get in the RGrB configuration. Both my Naigon V2 and Exquisite have it installed though, so any of the videos on Saber Swarm and the release video for the Naigon Exquisite show it in action.
How much does it cost?
Price will be $22.99, that's with the optic, so a bargin compared to other LEDs.
When can I get it?
It is available now on my site: saberigniter.com/NECreeRGB.aspx. Someone already bought one in the time I updated the site and was writing this in fact, LOL. Be patient though as I actually forgot to order a large quantity of the Carclo 10507 optic, so only have a few on hand, so some orders may ship after those arrive.
Thanks for the support, Godspeed and MTFBWY!
