My 10 yr old son wants to be Finn this year for Halloween. Minus the black face of course. I've been searching all over for his jacket and only come up with the cheap Disney one he won't fit or the insane $180 leather one for adults. I've searched etsy and Pinterest but come up empty handed as well.
If anyone runs across a Finn jacket please shoot me a link. I could use plans from the rebel, legion but I don't want to put too much time into it. I'm already trying to trim my Anovos armor, and chop up a 48" Stormtrooper toy to make armor for my 6 yr old. I won't have time to sew up a jacket.

Yeah I saw those. Thanks. My younger son is getting the 48" trooper armor made from the toy seen at Walmart. I can't just use a cheapo version for my 10 yr old.
I'd get that $80 one but I'd have to roll up the cuffs as it's still too big even in the XS. The cuffs go to his fingertips. These will get used while they still fit as they often accompany me when I troop. They won't just be a one time fit.
profezzorn: hey ARKM, did you ever write a that tutorial on the toner transfer method?

ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"

ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.

ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."

ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.

profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?

ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.

profezzorn: so what do you use?
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:36 GMT -5
ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
