I am almost done with building the saber. It should be completed by the end of this weekend and all that it would need after that is the new fonts to put in the Spark 2 soundboard I used. I will post some pics and video when it is complete. I want to thank everyone here for all of their donations, prayers and good wishes for the family. This is the best forum ever!!

I can ship you my GoPro along with the stand so you can record the meeting. I'm sure we are all going to want to see it!!
Talked to my friend with the CNC plasma cutter, and we will get rolling in a few days. Should take no more than a day in the shop to complete the stand. I have some pretty awesome plans drawn up. Updates will follow in a few days.
Okay, I just walked in and let Luke know what was up and want to keep everyone in the loop. I'm going to load the fonts Blako so kindly sent and make an instructional video for Luke and the family. I'll feature the fonts and custom boot so everyone can get an idea of what they sound like. I've got to run to the post office and grab some supplies then I'll get this out to Luke tomorrow. He should have it in his hands by Saturday, at the latest. Big thanks to Luke for thinking this up and taking the time away from his family around Christmas to put a smile on a deserving face. Keep in mind he'll be taking his armor so it's going to be an unnerving trip with a lot of stuff. All I can say is internet trolls will think twice about what they do. Unless they want their targets to get cool gear and tons of love from strangers.

I just wanted to post some progress pics and a short video with the new fonts. I still have a little work to do, like attach the chassis permanently to the upper inner section, I just have it temporarily in place to test everything. When complete all that will have to be done to access the recharge port is to open the clamp lever, unscrew the lower half to reveal the chassis and plug in the USB smart charger.
Congrats to all involved in this project Feel damn proud to be involved in a hobby that has the caliber of u people leading it....I was nearly 20yrs Aussie military & I've met people of great character before...u all put them to shame by the way everyone just jumped in no looking...
Word of warning to the trolls & online idiots out there...WE ARE GEEKS HEAR US ROAR !!! 😎
I stumbled into this a bit late, but I wanted to say that what I have seen here is nothing short of astonishing.
The Imperial Royal Arms is without a doubt the greatest saber community in existence.
You guys are all amazing.
I wish I had something I could send along to add to all of this, but first off, you guys have pretty much every item imaginable being sent right now, and I can't think of anything better that what you are doing already.
I'm going to share this post on my page, because I want people to see how awesome this community really is, and the way you all came together so fast for these people.
Who knows, maybe it will help with donations. I can offer that much at least.
Merry Christmas guys.
May the Force be with you.

Saberconcepts that saber is sweet. This family is going to be blown away but what you guys have all accomplished. I've been running everything past Grayson's mom to make sure everything we do is appropriate and she is just so shocked and amazed at what we're doing for her family. All of the hurt she's felt over the Internet trolls is being erased by our actions. I can't share all of their story publicly but there's a lot more hurt than just the trolls. People in their lives have actually done much worse than what those internet trolls have done. Much worse. I was shocked when Grayson's mom told me.
Kyle sharing our drive would be awesome. Feel free to share my PayPal: firstname.lastname@example.org and a link to this thread if you like.
From here on out 100% of all donations received from now up until the Rogue One premier, which is the day before I leave for their home, will be given to their family to help pay for Grayson's medical bills.
As Kyle mentioned, I also just noticed this thread as I have been in the belly of the shop and finally came up for air. You guys are incredible to pull this off, and I regret not paying closer attention. A blessing you all are

Guys we're all set for parts. Thank you. We even have a member making stands for them.
If anyone still wants to contribute, the remainder will go toward helping with Grayson's medical bills. He's only 3 and has had 24 surgeries. Even with insurance, 24 surgeries is an staggering figure I'm sure.
My PayPal is email@example.com. I will be presenting them a check from the IRA along with the sabers.

That is so awesome!! I bet they would never have guessed that a lightsaber forum would be the ones to step up and show them the generosity and kindness that all of you have shown. It just goes to show that when you need help it can come from very unexpected sources. I also like the fact that it is an online group, who I bet they didn't even know existed at the time, helping them bring awareness to being bullied and attacked from online sources. You guys are awesome and I am proud to be a member here. *sniff, sniff* Darn allergies are acting up again.

You aren't kidding. I already warned his mom of TK....... ahem....."allergies."
They didn't know we existed nor had she ever heard of the 501st or Rebel Legion. They are huge SW fans though. Jenny is stunned at what we've got cooking and she really doesn't know all that's coming their way.
The Frog has shipped. Luke should have it by Saturday. Now I can decompress for a minute. Although I won't sleep soundly until Luke has it in his hands. Horrible time of year for shipping. I paid for the shipping and donated the balance to the family. I know we have more coming, too. Again, thank you all for your generosity and kindness. This really is going to be a wonderful Christmas. MTFBWYA

Stand Update: Sat with my friend who has the CNC plasma cutter this morning and nailed out a working design... And MAN it is going to be sweet. We are going to get rocking on cutting metal soon. We have some final details to finalize tomorrow morning, then it's just putting plasma to steel.
That being said, I need some measurements... scarecrow and saberconcepts , any chance you can shoot me rough lengths and diameters of the hilts? Or anyone else that has a Graflex 2.0 and/or lethal crystal frog apprentice!?
The Frog is 6" long and 1.12" diameter without the grips. Hope this helps. BTW, the Frog comes with a custom injection molded stand though I know anything you make will blow it out of the water. Thanks for doing this.
profezzorn: hey ARKM, did you ever write a that tutorial on the toner transfer method?
Jun 23, 2017 15:50:15 GMT -5
ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"
Jun 23, 2017 16:24:16 GMT -5
ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:30 GMT -5
ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:53 GMT -5
ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.
Jun 23, 2017 16:27:10 GMT -5
profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?
Jun 23, 2017 16:37:26 GMT -5
ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:16 GMT -5
profezzorn: so what do you use?
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:36 GMT -5
ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
