My Mando kit still needs a ton of work. I had just gotten a new flightsuit and vest and had not had a chance to set everything up yet. But, I am very glad I wore it anyway. This was the best troop/event I have ever gone to and I had one of the best days of my life. This whole family was totally amazing at the strength and courage they had. They were a true inspiration.

Jenny just posted a big thank you on her FB page.
Before any of you wiseguys start up with me about sneakers being part of the new TK uniform........LOL
I trooped the Rogue One premier Friday night at a non profit theater on the New York CT border. The theater employs handicapped people. After the troop I raced the 2.5 hour drive home and got to sleep around midnight. My alarm woke me up at 3 am and I repacked my armor for a more airline friendly bag then raced out the door and drove 40 mins in the snow to catch the 6 am flight to Atlanta. After the 1:15 minute drive to Grayson's house I began to suit up. My stomach knotted up when I went to look for my TK boots and they were nowhere to be found.
We actually all had a good laugh over the missing boots so it was a fun crowd breaker to get things started.
You may now proceed with the TK bashing. . Be kind though. I'm a 501st noob. Friday was my first ever 501st troop.
Thanks again to everyone involved, especially you two. You did a bang up job bringing some happiness to a deserving family. The pictures turned out great and hopefully we've shown that there a way more good people in the world than bad. All of this has definitely brought me a lot of joy this Christmas and I thank you for it. Also, please let the family know that any regular super glue will fix that grip right up. Thanks.
Luke Skywalker , thank you so much for posting all of this, from the original idea to the pictures of the awesome day. I feel blessed to have been part of this, for my family and me this has served as a great reminder of what Christmas truly means.
(So... uh... where is the pre-order thread for the "Master Grayson Lightsaber Stand"?)

WOW guys. Those pics are amazing. The allergies are flowing. I wish I could have been there but I feel like I was. I definitely was in spirit. Thank you guys for the opportunity to be a part of this forum and this project. This really is the best forum in the galaxy.
You guys are killing me with the stand interest. I would LOVE to do a run of them. Perhaps a small run at first. I have a handful of ideas to play around with, like adding tubes and wires and making it a lot more reminiscent of the Carbonite chamber. There are two caveats however, one, the timeframe would likely be spring, and they wouldn't be super duper cheap, especially if they were more complex, there was a LOT of work put into that bad boy. But anyway, I won't hijack this thread to talk about that. I will chat with Luke, and perhaps there will be an interest thread popping up here soon. It will definitely be called "The Grayson".

You all were there with us. I kept letting Jenny know how many of you there were and how excited everyone was to participate. She was blown away by all that you guys did. It really changed the life of this family.
I'm doing one last thing for them. I'm posting the links to their youcare fund raising page and Facebook page everywhere I can. In hopes we can get their medical bills fully funded by Christmas. If you've got a site that you can post it on please share their story.

I'm surprised you didn't want to know where I got those awesome one of a kind TK boots. No one else will have boots like mine. LOL I got them at the local mall. They're called Saucony. They're very comfortable for trooping.
I'm very happy that the father enjoyed the tunic, it was my pleasure. As for the stand, I think that should only be a one shot deal, one of a kind for a special little boy. But that's just my opinion. Thanks Luke and to everyone else who made this boy's dream come true.

He loved the tunic. I wasn't quite sure. Jenny said they dueled and played Jedi all day yesterday until their batteries died. She posted a picture of him on their FB page with him wearing the tunic.
Grayson thinks his dad is a Jedi Master.
Guys, every gift you gave was meant for a purpose and I saw each one meet this purpose. The shirts can be worn to remind them of us. The saber bags will get used because Grayson wants to bring his saber around to show it off. Every little item had a purpose.
Everything that was given to the family was from all of us here at the IRA. From one family to another. We all gave equally. It was just dumb luck that I had a Frog ready. I'm sure any of you would have done the same. If I give an extra thumbs up to Luke and Wade it's because they gave their time, as well. We all know how precious a commodity time can be. I'd love it if we did this yearly. There are lots of worthy causes out there. What I love about this time is that we did it in reaction to cruelty. Not Christmas or a birthday. Just to show the bad people out there that there's more of us than them. To show a family that has suffered more than their share of hardships that strangers care. To put a smile on a little boy's face. That's all the motivation we needed. That shows what kind of people we are and I'm proud to be among you. It's brought me a lot of joy this Christmas and I have all of you to thank for it. Keep up the good work and MTFBWYA.

This was the first time I have seen the Frog in person and I must say I am VERY impressed. I know that it took a ton of time to design and build and it really shows.
I too was only able to give what I did due to timing. I just happened to take my Graflex 2.0 out of storage a few days before this thread was started and also had all the other parts needed come in earlier that week. I normally don't have any spare hilts an parts just laying around, most of everything I have are part of customer projects or runs where all sabers are spoken for. I was also planning on taking the weekend off from saber building that weekend too. With all of that happening at the same time really made me know that saber was meant for Grayson's Dad.
Then the whole forum stepped up and was able to give everything else plus some.
Even that was not the end of sabers getting donated to the family. My daughter really stepped up and made me very proud when while we were taking pictures she said she had 2 of her stunt sabers in the car that she would like Grayson's brother and sister have. I mean, really? It just so happened that there were going to be 2 siblings that wouldn't be getting sabers and my daughter just happened to have her 2 stunt sabers in the car. Tell me that was not meant to be. Once those were taken out of my car, everybody was playing with them. That was the best few hours I have had in a very long time.
If that's a long-life battery that kid's never gonna sleep again...haha U can't put a value on a photo like that...priceless Well done to the entire IRA...as a community that something to be very proud of
