In order to keep the sign in thread clean, I figured I'd post these thoughts in this topic. I'm sure there will be more information, but here's couple of notions:
The finish, how's the shroud sleeve going to be? Polished or matte? IMO the main body should be in contrast with shroud and my personal favourite would be matte shroud, glossy "wet" black main body. But if it's vice-versa, polished shroud would do fine with flat, matte black main body.
Some people might also appreciate the option of having the thumbscrew bezel uncoated. I'm not that big QGJ aficionado that I knew exactly why, but some Qui-Gon varients seem to have "silver" colored bezel, instead of black. Just a thought.
I think to keep the price down he might not be able to offer a bunch of different varients. Maybe offering just the pieces (at the same price point) would be an option though, so the end owner could get it Powder coated to their own preferences.
So 1 option which is all powder coated the same way, or a bare hilt so people can do it themselves. I repost my question in this thread to keep the other uncluttered. 1.1" ID?

To quote Maxwell Smart.... "Missed it by THAT much."
Sorry man, the cutoff date was literally this past week. But from the sound of things, One Replicas is planning future runs of other sabers as well. Plus, you will likely find some of these sabers coming up for sale after the electronics are installed. Patience may win for you on this Qui.

I would shoot onereplicas a pm stating your intentions of getting one. He may have planned a few extras for such a case.
He seems like a great guy to deal with the few times I've chatted with hm.
Inevitably on these types of runs you have at least one or more members want out down the road or like previously stated someone bought one too many and wants to sell one. I would say you have a good chance of scoring one. Not a great chance but a good chance. Keep your eyes open and your intentions posted and you may just get lucky.

OR, you are forcing my hand here. I really hate to post this here but you still owe me a heatsink and heatsink retention screw. I have been PM-ing you since May about this. You didn't answer a single one. Your communication was top notch before that, what gives?
First the saber came in horrible condition due to your customs. dented and chipped all over because they did not sealed the box and the parts got bounced around. The I realized you forgot to include the heatsink. I know for a fact that you forgot because the blade retention screw wasn't even in. I also tested with the heatsink from an earlier OR QGJ that you sent me (which also came in horrible condition) and it wouldn't even fit in the second hilt because you did not file down the excess metal from drilling the heatsink retention screw.
I know you might think I am lying about the missing heatsink but these two points proved beyond any doubt that it was even there in the first place. You promised you will file a complain with Fedex in your country and will get back to me on it yet you didn't although I also submit the relevant paper work to Fedex from my side.
In fact, I have stated multiple times that I do not care about exchange anymore at this point and I just want the heatsink and heatsink retention screw. If it is so much trouble, I will even pay for it. Your heatsink is not exactly standard and no other replacement from TCSS or Ultrasaber fits.
Now that hilt is just sitting around gathering dust because I am missing a heatsink and I can't build it.
I have relocated this post to the thread that it is relevant to.
In the future, consider contacting a moderator when you have an issue of this nature, it may go a long way toward alleviating the problem.

I like your way of doing the Qui-gon hilt. Looks way better. Wondering how a soundboard, speaker, and batteries would fit in though. Maybe leave the pommel portion of the saber more wided but still enough room for the low cut grooves. Going to do an Obi-wan TPM counter part? =]

Hi guys, just a little update with OR (Francisco).
He may not be replying to messages as his internet connection down in Venezuela is pretty intermittent. I have spoken with him on the phone and it has caused some problems for him however he is making an effort to get down to some internet cafe's to respond to some messages.
Just thought it may help providing you guys with an update.
profezzorn: hey ARKM, did you ever write a that tutorial on the toner transfer method?
Jun 23, 2017 15:50:15 GMT -5
ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"
Jun 23, 2017 16:24:16 GMT -5
ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:30 GMT -5
ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:53 GMT -5
ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.
Jun 23, 2017 16:27:10 GMT -5
profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?
Jun 23, 2017 16:37:26 GMT -5
ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:16 GMT -5
profezzorn: so what do you use?
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:36 GMT -5
ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
