With the awesome run from One.Replicas coming I thought it would be worth it to gauge any interest in soundboard installs. I'm not going to ask for commitments or money or anything like that until I have mine in-hand and install an Igniter in it. Once that's done and I have a process, I'll follow-up with those that are interested to see if they still want an install. Pricing is TBD but will be in-line with other installs I offer. I would generally say $100-$200 plus parts/boards. Add you're name to the thread if you might have an interest. Again, this is not a commitment, just gauging interest. I'll follow-up when they are in-hand.
OR-QGJ Install Interest List: 1. Owen Lars 2. Nartules 3. EyeoftheRaven 4. Timo 5. Ladyhawke 6. Link
Well I think he wants to do his install first to see how it goes, so having one replicas ship your hilt to him might not be a good idea since he won't be working on it right away. I know I'll probably hit up IA to do the install...but I have to hold this thing 1st.
I will say I am interested in getting an install done as well, but I am going to have to wait for it until some time next year. I love sabers, but sometimes my pocket doesn't share my interests.

I'm interested to see what you come up with. i'll be custom lathing chassis for my pair, and not putting 18650s because the board and batteries shouldn't touch the hilt ever. heatshrunk batteries alone, sure. but not the board. anyway, good luck!

Have to get one in-hand first. I have some ideas for how to handle this one though. Something I thought would be obvious but I can't find much mention of it on the boards. There will be no board to metal contact

Since the QGJ's are shipping I figured it was a good time to revive this thread. I know some people on the original interest list have sold their spots or aren't in a position to have an install done so I'm going to ask for everyone that is interested in having me handle their install to post again. If you are no longer interested (for whatever reason) just let me know so I take your name off.
I'm going to offer two trim levels for the saber. One will be Igniter™* and the other will be Spark™. I'll explain what the asterisk after Igniter™ means at a later date.
Here's what I believe the parts needed will cost...
Igniter™ $174.99 Spark™ $110.00 TriRebel $24 (GGA/GGRo/GGW for Spark™ installs, RGRb (royal blue) for Igniter™) QuadRebel $34 (GGAA/GGRoRo/GGWW for Spark™, RGGRb for Igniter™) - PLEASE NOTE, I AM STILL TESTING QUADS. IF THEY DO NOT WORK, I WILL SWITCH TO A LEDengin RGGB Lens $3 23mm or 27mm Railmaster $7.50 Charge Port $3 18650 $13 Aux switch $2 MPS Insert w/Charge Port $6 3D Printed Insert w/Charge Port $6 Arkhan Knurled Kill Key (aluminum or brass with gem color of choice) $8 Shipping charges $10 (to get the parts shipped to me)
That is my cost for parts. I'll also have to pay to get everything shipped to me so I'd like to get a list of installs going so I can place one order rather than multiple orders. My rate for an Igniter™ install is $200 and my rate for a Spark™ install is $150. This covers my labor since I will have to make mods, do the wiring, make a chassis, etc.
So to break it down, an Igniter™ install will cost $499 for a QuadRebel and $475 for a TriRebel. A Spark™ install will be $399 for the Quad and $375 for the Tri.
Sabers will come fully configured with my fonts and other fonts that I have licenses to use for installs. If you want something other than those, you must provide them. The sabers will come with a lifetime warranty on labor. I can't do anything about part failures since I do not make them so if a part needs to be replaced in the future, the actual cost will be charged.
A deposit for the parts will be required before you send me your saber. Deposits for Igniter™ sabers are $299 for the Quad and $275 for the Tri. Spark™ deposits are $249 for the Quad and $225 for the Tri. The remaining balance (the install charge) will be due when the saber is complete along with the actual cost for return shipping. It will not take me long to do the install, however, I have no control over the part shipments. Some items like the Rebels take two weeks or more to get. I'll also need your saber.
If you are not on the list and are interested, please post. If you are on the list and are no longer interested, please post or send me an email.

I've had some inquiries on this. LMK if you are interested. I'm going to have to raise the cost of Quad installs due to the amount of work I need to do to make it fit. I'll update the pricing tomorrow when I'm on a proper computer.
EDIT: Prices updated to cover labor and machining costs
Following up on this thread, I'm definitely considering an R4 install on the OR QGJ. Hasn't arrived yet obviously, but when it does I'm certainly considering the brand spankin' new R4. It looks unreal! I think it would be a sweet fit in a QGJ hilt, not to mention another sweet showcase of the R4. Let me know your thoughts on this!

Just for clarification for some, the price ponts you qouted above, would that be for the Igniter Mini itself? or would be it a different price? I hope to get another OR Qui down the road, and an install done myself at one point.

Had a few questions on this recently. So far, only Link has actually sent me a saber for install. If there are others, shoot me a PM. Given that the big daddy Igniter is not going to be an easy fit, I'm only going to offer two trim levels. There will be an option for the Igniter Mini™ with an X4 RGGB or a Spark™ with an X2 RRGG (or other combo if Lucien can make it). The Igniter Mini™ install will run $475 and the Spark™ install is $375. If you want to get in, shoot me a PM and be prepared to send me $275 for a Mini™ deposit or $225 for a Spark™ deposit. The remaining balance plus shipping will be due when the saber is done. Once the deposit is paid, there's no cancellations or refunds.
profezzorn: hey ARKM, did you ever write a that tutorial on the toner transfer method?
Jun 23, 2017 15:50:15 GMT -5
ARKM: *waves hand* "I'm not the slacker you're looking for"
Jun 23, 2017 16:24:16 GMT -5
ARKM: Sadly no. Well, that's not entirely true. I did finish writing it but did not perform the steps and take pics of said steps.
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:30 GMT -5
ARKM: So it's like "Step 5: Using the high temperature temp, tape the paper with the design on it onto the metal part to be etched."
Jun 23, 2017 16:26:53 GMT -5
ARKM: ... but there's no Pic 4.
Jun 23, 2017 16:27:10 GMT -5
profezzorn: from other things I've read it's just PNP blue with some heat and pressure applied, right?
Jun 23, 2017 16:37:26 GMT -5
ARKM: Some use that. I could not get successful results with it but others have.
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:16 GMT -5
profezzorn: so what do you use?
Jun 23, 2017 16:47:36 GMT -5
ARKM: I personally use glossy magazine pages. I just rip a page out of a magazine and put it in the printer. The pages have to be the right thickness for the printer though. Too thin and they rip in the printer.
