Of course, there's nothing wrong with creating a thread for a specific saber you own but sometimes people may just want to post random pics of sabers they made and/or own in a "catch all' thread like this one. I'll start.
Here's a PVC Saber I made many years ago. I's modeled after the Luke RotJ lightsaber...
Here is my hardware saber.... the Malius. It's the predecessor to the Killer Penny.
It's made from brass tubing, knurled brass knobs and a brass stamped oval section that used to go to a desktop steam engine model. The emitter was from a torch, as was the fluted grip section. The "grill" piece on the underside was something I found at a model/RC shop. The copper accents were dremeled from a pipe coupler. Here's the torch the grip came from:
I was originally going to have it be a lit up, weathered saber. The first pic in this post was taken before the threaded collar was brazed to the inside of the fluted grip section. The guy that did it really screwed up the job though....
Thinking it was ruined, I contacted the guy that I had purchased it from, in New Zealand. The grip section came from an old 1940's torch. Definitely not easy to find. I told him what happened and sent the above picture to him. He agreed to keep his eye out for another, but the chances were pretty slim that he'd see one anytime soon.
Well, I attempted to dremel all those welds back down to a reasonable shape, consistent with the original contours. It mostly turned out OK, with the exception of 2 places that were just too badly damaged to get it back to normal. So, I decided to go for a more ancient/relic look.
Of course, after I got it like I wanted it, my friend in New Zealand contacted me and said he had found another grip section. I bought it and decided not to use it on this saber, but rather just save it for a future build. That build became the Killer Penny. So, if the welder guy hadn't screwed up my Malius saber, there probably wouldn't have been the Penny. LOL
