Just wanted to share a quick look at my third saber build. Also, I've just joined the forum, so hi!
I'm building a K4 to fit in between ROTS and ANH during Kenobi's time in the desert. I've sanded down the black paint on the emitter shroud to look smudged and used. I've treated the 7/8" blade holder quickly with Aluminum Black to darken it. The wind vane has been weathered by putting the brass parts (they seem to react as real brass at least) in a closed plastic bag with a bowl of vinegar and some crushed hard-boiled eggs over night. The grenade section and the booster section have had the anodizing removed with drain cleaner and then I treated them with loads of Aluminum Black and sealed them with two coats of matte varnish.
I have one of Darth Ryo's 7/8" chassis, and a 3.7 V 18650 battery ready. Now I'm just waiting on the electronics: amongst other a Spark 2, and a Tri-Cree XPE-2 Blue Green Red for an ice blue/cyan blade with a red/purple FoC.

Planning to do this with mine! Questions though: 1. How do you hold the lens in place when the led pad goes straight into the blade holder? 2. Also, is there a way to keep the wind vane from spinning once it's in place?

I believe some are gluing the legs into the LED star. Not sure which glue can hold up to the heat dissipated by the copper base of the star. I'm curious too, because the K4 is one of my missing builds. Keep us up to date on the install progress!
You can also machine down the outer aluminum housing for a heatsink so that it just fits over the LED and Lens and then hold it in place with a retention screw. Then, no part of the blade touches the LED/Lens
jaltrooper: Hey guys! Dumb question...but are there any t-shirts available, or any other swag I can buy to support the Page?

ARKM: We have challenge coins. Contact Luke Skywalker if you want one.

Luke Skywalker: We never did any swag. There's never enough interest to even break even. My sponsor coin run was a huge success and helped us pay the bills well into 2018 and even gave us the money to fund a couple of one time costs we incurred this year.

Luke Skywalker: As for shirts. I really need to get one for me as well. I've been wanting one with our new logo since we changed over. My desire has always been that this is a site for the members. I consider you all my friends and have no desire to make a profit from

ARKM: Luke Skywalker, hit me up if you want the image I used for the front of my shirt.

Luke Skywalker: Site. I never intend to charge selling fees. The coin drive was a much better way to go imho. As for our logo, name and copywriter and TM's go. I have no issue with anyone wanting to use them. I ask two things. Please let me know prior. If it's crude

Luke Skywalker: and vulgar and casts us in a bad light I simply won't approve it. The other thing I think would be nice is that if our name is used on things like t-shirts that you do make a small donation to help support the site.

Luke Skywalker: My recommendation, and the place I will definitely go when I want to have a shirt done is TRA member defcon. Al's work is outstanding. Al is the Solo's Hold of saber bags and other fabric items. I've had him make me a couple of shirts and several

Luke Skywalker: saber bags. His merchandise is perfection.

Luke Skywalker: I think I'm down to about 8 coins.

Luke Skywalker: ARKM what image did you use? Was it the one with SVD's glowing eyes? I'm really curious to see how our logo looks on a shirt. Defcon would certainly need to use the flattened simpler version. For a detailed logo I think you'd need it silk screened.
