I was toying with the 1" with the RGB V2 yesterday, rifling through the colors. It has the CF8 and CEX. It was interesting seeing how each color affects the photon blade. The red is a really deep dark red.
I think after my own little experiments, the best two seemed to be straight plain Jane blue and blue/green. The blue was the brightest and the BG was not as bright, but was more green.
It's so difficult sometimes, to take a photo and have it show what you see with your eyes in real time. I tried this a few times with different lighting, as dark as I could get the room, fairly well lighted like this. I think these two pictures are about as good as I am going to get with an iPhone camera.
The photon is on the left, the regular blade is on the right. Both VV, two inch difference in length, 34" on left, 32" on right. Both dual diffused, shine through tip.
Off camera, the one on the right has a little of that "light in a tube" thing going on. Keep in mind this red is with only one die.
On the left, it is more uniform and slightly different. Granted, a photon blade is really a kind of day blade. So, I guess some of that should be expected.
I did some more experiments. I recently bought these two blades strictly to use for my DV6 after the experiment above. These are both 7/8", 36" length blades from VV, one photon, the other dual diffused with shine through.
Interestingly, this saber has a Red die and a Deep Red die, instead of RR, so there seems to be a noticeable difference compared to the original red experiment...
The first set of pictures is using the FoC, or in this case, the LockUp feature, so that I don't have to hold the button while taking the picture, so that you can see what we are dealing with...
Now, the comparison pics. The first is the pictures in their normal state, and the second set is the same picture with the HDR function on the iphone, which evens out the picture...
Conclusion: I don't see a difference. lol. And it's hard to detect one visually using just your eyes as well. So, the conclusion is, the Deep Red & Red doesn't produce as dramatic a difference as a single color red blade does. I think I'll still use the photon on this DV6 though, because it may still be a little more even to the eye.
And finally, this picture using both blades on two sabers, the DV6 and the Crow V2, on a messed up bed with folded laundry and socks propping up the hilt and the blade...
That's with the GB blade option. That's about as close to the color as you are going to get me thinks, so the photon blade is now an option on the SH V2.
The GB blade is still not as bright as a straight BB blade would be, but the green color offset is worth it, IMO. This blade has not been fitted with an emitter ring, because it is for the DV6. The DV6 has a deep blade holder, so I am having a 34" inch photon ordered for the Crow V2 so that they will match in length.

Demonstration video comparison of plain clear blades to TCSS "Enhanced Red" blades or Photon Blades. I have 2 Kylo Sabers that are modded. The first shown is with deep red LEDs, the second with standard red. I put the enhanced in both.
Enhanced don't make much of a difference when illuminated, except to make the deep red more photogenic (removes that fuscia that cameras pick up). During the day when not illuminated in full sunlight they look awesome, way better than brake light goop crap everyone is gunking up their sabers with.
Hope this helps. IMHO, I think they're ok for blades if you have a saber dedicated to that specific color. I also heard that the enhanced green on a blue LED makes a fantastic green.
jaltrooper: Hey guys! Dumb question...but are there any t-shirts available, or any other swag I can buy to support the Page?

ARKM: We have challenge coins. Contact Luke Skywalker if you want one.

Luke Skywalker: We never did any swag. There's never enough interest to even break even. My sponsor coin run was a huge success and helped us pay the bills well into 2018 and even gave us the money to fund a couple of one time costs we incurred this year.

Luke Skywalker: As for shirts. I really need to get one for me as well. I've been wanting one with our new logo since we changed over. My desire has always been that this is a site for the members. I consider you all my friends and have no desire to make a profit from

ARKM: Luke Skywalker, hit me up if you want the image I used for the front of my shirt.

Luke Skywalker: Site. I never intend to charge selling fees. The coin drive was a much better way to go imho. As for our logo, name and copywriter and TM's go. I have no issue with anyone wanting to use them. I ask two things. Please let me know prior. If it's crude

Luke Skywalker: and vulgar and casts us in a bad light I simply won't approve it. The other thing I think would be nice is that if our name is used on things like t-shirts that you do make a small donation to help support the site.

Luke Skywalker: My recommendation, and the place I will definitely go when I want to have a shirt done is TRA member defcon. Al's work is outstanding. Al is the Solo's Hold of saber bags and other fabric items. I've had him make me a couple of shirts and several

Luke Skywalker: I think I'm down to about 8 coins.

Luke Skywalker: ARKM what image did you use? Was it the one with SVD's glowing eyes? I'm really curious to see how our logo looks on a shirt. Defcon would certainly need to use the flattened simpler version. For a detailed logo I think you'd need it silk screened.
