I'll keep this short and sweet.
Overall the Graflex 2.0 looks nice sitting on a shelf. The red button colors are a bit off compared to the vintage, but we all know this was not meant to be super accurate but an alternative with no Graflex options.
Quality. The 2.0 looks nice. Sadly, the entire saber appears to have been plated. Including the threads. The plating came off the threads and is now frozen. Sadly the crystal chamber reveal on this saber will never be seen.
Price - At $195 from TCSS that seems like a good deal for a custom hilt. With TGS putting out a true Graflex replica soon for only $200 the 2.0 is only a savings of $5.
I can't see any logical reason to ever purchase a Graflex 2.0. Why risk the threads locking up on you when you can have a failsafe saber in the TGS Graflex. You'll also have much more room for a custom chassis. The Graflex 2.0 wastes an enormous amount of space compared to the huge interior of a real Graflex.
We all know the issues that came out of the Roman's Graflex run. I'd even recommend a Roman's before I'd recommend purchasing a 2.0.
Graflex 2.0 rating
Appearance - 6 Quality - 1 (I'd give a 7 if the threads didn't lock up) Price (not worth it when you can get the real deal for $5 more) - 0 Install - 5 (way too much wasted space with the large BH)
I really wanted to like this hilt. I was hoping it would make a nice hilt for Mercy Missions for kids. Sadly, that's not the case.

I didn't have the thread problems with the Graflex but did have them with the MPP 2.0, WD40 and brute strength is what finally got it apart, with some smashed up threads left behind but it worked fine after a little cleanup. Problem I have with the Graflex 2.0 (first version) is the lack of predrilled channel for the red button switch (I think was added to second version) and the difficulty I had to get the red button setup and screwed in to work as on/off switch without messing up the switch itself, broke 2 of them along the way.
It was my first build and I "upgraded" screws and such so I will be holding onto it for awhile but wouldnt build another, especially with the other makers releasing now/soon.
jaltrooper: Hey guys! Dumb question...but are there any t-shirts available, or any other swag I can buy to support the Page?

ARKM: We have challenge coins. Contact Luke Skywalker if you want one.

Luke Skywalker: We never did any swag. There's never enough interest to even break even. My sponsor coin run was a huge success and helped us pay the bills well into 2018 and even gave us the money to fund a couple of one time costs we incurred this year.

Luke Skywalker: As for shirts. I really need to get one for me as well. I've been wanting one with our new logo since we changed over. My desire has always been that this is a site for the members. I consider you all my friends and have no desire to make a profit from

ARKM: Luke Skywalker, hit me up if you want the image I used for the front of my shirt.

Luke Skywalker: Site. I never intend to charge selling fees. The coin drive was a much better way to go imho. As for our logo, name and copywriter and TM's go. I have no issue with anyone wanting to use them. I ask two things. Please let me know prior. If it's crude

Luke Skywalker: and vulgar and casts us in a bad light I simply won't approve it. The other thing I think would be nice is that if our name is used on things like t-shirts that you do make a small donation to help support the site.

Luke Skywalker: My recommendation, and the place I will definitely go when I want to have a shirt done is TRA member defcon. Al's work is outstanding. Al is the Solo's Hold of saber bags and other fabric items. I've had him make me a couple of shirts and several

Luke Skywalker: ARKM what image did you use? Was it the one with SVD's glowing eyes? I'm really curious to see how our logo looks on a shirt. Defcon would certainly need to use the flattened simpler version. For a detailed logo I think you'd need it silk screened.
