Fair warning though: That chassis was designed for the V1 electronics (which is pretty big) and has a number of problems. I should really design a new one. I just don't need another Graflex, so it probably won't happen.
[You should see if you can do some chassis that can fit in some smaller hilts.... like "MY" Duke for instance. Lol😉]
I think the lack of chassis support is the main thing holding the teensysaber back right now. Sounds like profezzorn does all the programming, is willing to add any code you want and his site walks you through the build process. That makes it as approachable as any other board out there. If somebody takes on the challenge of building a compatible chassis then it'll be on. Profezzorn, maybe you can reach out to a few 3D designers and see if they're interested.
I've got an old Hasbro Fisto that I've never done anything with. Since I was going with a pvc sled anyway, I think I should give the teensy a shot. I'll probably wait to see where the TCSS connectors and blades are going first. Just to save myself some work. I need to familiarize myself with the arduino stuff anyway. I plan on building some studio scale ships and of course they'll need lights and sounds. Probably neopixels in the engines.

I certainly don't have precise numbers on heat or temp or anything but I've had fully charged sabers and played with them til it was almost dead and never felt any heat or warmth. The blade doesn't ever seem to get hot or anything?
Love the STRING! Lol
That Arduino stuff is so cool and the future of the hobby... I can honestly say,
I've had CF-LS, Prizm 5.1, NBv4 igniter 2 and the Teensy by far has blown away my expectations! I also have 2 DIYino Prime v1 boards for the Vented Fury sabers coming out soon so not sure about that yet but you better believe I'll be posting a video on that! I will definitely be using more Teensy boards. Unless Plector comes out with something that can compete with that Arduino stuff, that's where I'm at for now.... (igniter 2) psss... Naigon your stuff RULES - BUT WE WANT FIRE!!! Hahahaha I'll be 1st in line!!! I've got Prizm, NBv4, igniter 2, DIYino, Hasbro 2016, with accelerometer, CF-LS and Teensy it is my personal goal to have at least one all of the best boards that perform the string or Neopixel function! I don't usually have 2 of the same. Vented Fury exception of course.
Alsi I feel it's fair too mention to people that I personally will no longer be using zimmerlabs_lightsabers for any more installs but when i do a video its only right to mention who did the install and I'm sure most of you have seen this video but for those who haven't? Check out what the Teensy can do!!!! Simply impressive.... keep in mind the camera simply does not do it justice! The rainbow and fire blades are just WOW!!!!

Well, all i can say is....
Other than my Dark Saber everything else I have will always have Neopixel or String Blades. They're so much brighter, cleaner prettier and realistic. Especially when done correctly no shadows and yes Neopixels are tough! I've broken a blade with it flying across the room and the connector defuser was still attached to the hilt with it lit up!!! I really wish I had taken a pic!
(Limp Saber - Family Guy Anyone?)
I've had super bright tri Cree and the like next to my string blades and the brightness isn't even close!
The answer is yes, done properly you can certainly do full contact with them. They are more expensive but I'm collector and show men I'm not wacking my trees with an or fighting anyone.
Ethan Zimmer (on facebook) does neo (and teensysaber) setups.
I would strongly advise everyone to avoid Ethan Zimmer.
['ve actually come to that conclusion as well, but really more for personal reasons. I think he's expensive and takes too long. But I would very much like to hear why you would "strongly" recommend avoiding Ethan Zimmer? I've had him do tons of my stuff and the blades are amazing! In fact I won't ever have anything but Neopixel or string blades ever again! As far as Ethan goes, I will be using spacewindu for everything from now on, he's actually got a few of my hilts right now can't wait to get em! But seriously I'd like to hear your thoughts

In my opinion the best saber I've ever had! Personal issues have caused me not to be able to keep some of my best stuff...
I just have too many things right now and plenty more on the way. Once things cool down I will be able to rebuild
This install was performed beautifully and excellently by Ethan Zimmer of Zimmer Labs. Very nice guy and very talented to say the least
This is the AOTC version pommel and emitter style with 1" blade 3.7v Recharge port and kill key...
Please enjoy this pic and video gallery they speak for themselves. The 1st is more of a glam vid and visual effects. The 2nd has some of those same visual effects but with a narrated review and demonstration.

If you wanna do it yourself spacewindu I'm sure will be happy to give advice and help he's a great guy
NBv4, Prizm 5.1, Igniter 2, DIYino Prime v1. Teensy saber 3.2 there are lots of AWESOME boards now available for Neopixel String Blades which are not as tough to make as a true LED string... but AMAZING
GK45: Prolly for the best, my Wisdom Tooth has decided it doesn't like my mouth and has begun seceding little by little and I can't get it pulled for another month yet so sugar isn't my best friend right now...not that it is stopping me.
